She walked out the door
	screen door slamming shut.
She threw me a wave
	and a smile, lips taught.
I watched her slip out the gate
	disappearing into the shadow of the Jacaranda.
Silence
My phone chirped.
a message:
	I'm not coming home
	again
	I love you
