The Stone Cutters

Beto ‘Riginale

The stone cutters work
chopping, grinding large stones
through the cloud of dust 
just visible.
Yet roughness remains,
only smaller,
dust blinding.
Grinding polishing
surface smooth,
beneath still raw.
Stumbling through rubble,
my sole's bloody, I go on,
seeking peace vanquished.
