skies filled with darkening clouds
drops, like water balloons, fall without warning.
thunder, lightning, rain,
sudden, unexpected, scary,
washes away the veil of dry dust.
in flashes of light roses lift their heads
thirsting, bathing, drinking in life.
vibrant colors, the color of Mexico,
cleansed of powdery grey.
